Vale of Aylesbury’s Andrew Rolt competed in the British Masters Athletic Federations Indoor Championship at the weekend.

On the down side, he just missed out on a bronze medal in the V45 3,000m final with a time of 9:37:86.

But, on a number of positive notes, Andrew set a new club record beating clubmates Alan Roberts’ indoor record by 1min 43 secs and Nick Taylor’s V45 outright record by 13 secs.

Andrew is also delighted that it is an 11-second improvement on his V40 indoor club record. It was a good day at the office all round for the experienced runner.

The first five in the race posted the fastest V45 times in the UK this indoor 2011/12 season, emphasising the quality of the field.
