Aylesbury Grammar School pupil Cameron Pope, who lives in Stoke Mandeville, has been selected to take part in trials for South West England U16s Rugby squad.

The achievement is made all the more remarkable by the fact he still plays for the U15s Oxon team. Cameron came through the three-trial Oxon divisional games to make the England trials. He plays for Chinnor Rugby Club, based in Thame, and trains with EPDG London Wasps Academy where he has made the No. 8 position his own. Cameron is an all-rounder too. He started playing tennis aged six at Halton Tennis Centre where he progressed to playing for the Under 9s county team and still enjoys a game to this day. He only took up rugby seriously aged 12 and has been training at Halton Health and Fitness Club to improve his conditioning.
