GB keeper George is special guest at hockey club

Great Britain hockey keeper George Pinner will be the special guest at an Aylesbury Hockey Club open day this weekend.

To highlight the impending start of a new season, the club us hosting its senior players (men and ladies aged 14+) at Halton on Saturday where they will meet their new coach, play games and enjoy a barbecue. Current, new and former players are all welcome and registration will take place at 10.30am with games scheduled to take place between 11am and 4pm.

Then on Sunday, Team GB keeper Pinner will be visiting to talk to the junior section, who will also get the chance to meet their coaches, play games and enjoy a barbecue.

Pinner, from Ipswich, plays his club hockey at Beeston in Nottingham. In June 2012 he was one of seven GB hockey athletes to pose for the centrefold of Cosmopolitan magazine as part of a campaign to raise awareness of male cancers and the Everyman cancer charity.

On Sunday, Under 8 and U10 players have their registration at 9.30am to start at 10-11.30am.

Under 12s and above have registration at 11am to start at 11.30am-1pm.
