Former Ducks player and clubman Mike Robinson has passed away at the age of 83, the club has revealed.

Robinson died on Christmas Eve after a short illness and his funeral will be held on Tuesday January 14 at 1pm in Cheltenham.

A spokesman for Aylesbury RFC said: “It is with great sadness that we have learned of Mike’s death..”

In an open letter published on the club’s official website, family member Eddie Robinson said: “As a player and an organiser he had fond memories of Aylesbury Rugby Football Club.

“I’d be very happy if anyone from the club would like to attend and come to the wake afterwards. However, I’d understand entirely if no one can make it due to the distance and being the middle of a working day. Let me know if anyone will attend so I can adjust numbers for catering.

“It would be fantastic if anyone could dig out any copies of photos of Mike playing or in a team photo – our intention is to display some pictures of his life at the wake.”

Anyone wishing to attend should contact Eddie on 07768 777775 or write to him at 1 Newcourt Park Cheltenham GL53 9AY.
