Dohnuts break record but can’t topple Supreme

A high scoring night in the Handicap Doubles League saw Supreme Legacy and Dohnuts produce all-700 plus series’.

All four Supreme bowlers came away with a 15-5 win but it was the Dohnuts who recorded the high team game of the season of 536.

The Dohnuts had Cheryl Hoare producing the matches top individual score of 643 which included a 255 game to beat Supreme’s Michael Kent by two pins.

Michael was well supported by partner John West who made 612 with Dohnuts youngster Charlie Lewis having his best performance of the season with a couple of 200 plus games and a scratch score of 562. The victory sees Supreme Legacy widen the gap at the top to 11 points with Splits Happen moving up to second after beating Divided by Time 13-7.

Alpha now find themselves out of the top two after losing heavily to Goodfellows for whom Tony Caputa had a good night with a 268 game and 685 series. Richard Purser was another in fine form with a 693 series to lead Fallen Apart to a 19-1 victory over the Rank Outsiders and if his partner had not faded after the first game the team would have been in line to set a new league high score. In the remaining match A.Ties drew 10-10 with Little & large decided by just one pin.
