Aston Park had a weekend to remember after fantastic victories over two local rivals.
Both of Park’s first teams enjoyed that winning feeling, something that is becoming commonplace at the Aston Clinton club, particularly the women’s firsts.
The club’s men, made up of Kevin Clausner (captain) and John Steele with Simon Sluszny and Andrew Nurse – Sean Strong in reserve – found themselves drawn against a Halton team for the first time in 10 years.
And Aston Park made up for lost time with a convincing 6-2 victory.
On the same day, the women’s first team travelled to Long Crendon to play on an unfamiliar carpet surface and on a beautiful November morning.
Anne Jackson (captain) and Marie Jones were joined by Eileen Greenall and Barbara Wilkinson – Glen Hickson as reserve – secured a convincing 7-1 win in sets. This is the third win in as many games for the team.
A club spokesman said: “We hope to see many of our members turning out to show support when the return fixtures are played.”
