The organiser of a series of popular darts exhibitions says Premier League champ and current world number two Michael van Gerwen would ‘love to come to Aylesbury’.
Maria Butler was speaking ahead of her latest professional darts exhibition at the TA Centre on Oxford Road on Saturday September 28.
And the local promoter has revealed van Gerwen wants to appear at one of her events in the future.
Butler, though, says organising the events is not easy and is urging local companies to come forward to help make them bigger and better than ever to attract the star names of darts.
“I am hoping that companies may want to be involved in the future and come forward to assist, then we could have bigger named dart players, I know that Michael van Gerwen would love to come down as well as many others that I speak to regularly,” Butler said.
“It is getting very hard to raise the money required to put these events on.”
Over the last three years famous players such as Adrian Lewis have put Aylesbury on the map as a regular fixture on the darts calendar.
Adding a touch of magic to proceedings at the TA Centre for Butler’s latest event is Aylesbury magician Sylar.
Trophies and medals on offer at the event have been sourced locally too, with Chas of Little Gifts in Kingsbury donating silverware.
Butler is looking forward to her latest event and says she still gets a buzz out of bringing sports stars to the town.
“It is just great to see that all the work that I have put in to this has paid off and also making a lot of star struck fans dreams come true.”
The Bucks Herald has teamed up with Butler to offer 10 tickets to the evening event to lucky readers.
All you have to do is text your name and address to 07879556925 and 10 winners will be chosen at random and their tickets will be posted before the event.
There are also standard tickets available, for more information call Maria Butler on 07879556925.
