Bowlers beat Tilehurst in a game of remarkable margins

Thame edged to a narrow victory over Tilehurst by just nine shots at the weekend.

After 10 ends, Thame were holding an 11-shot lead and this hardly altered even with some high scoring ends by both sides during the game.

Remarkably, the winning shot differences on each rink, ranged from nine shots on rink five, to 27 shots on rink three as Thame edged the victory 115-105. Top rink honours went to Vic Webb,Kevin Dennington,Vic Brooks and Skip Ron Duncan who won by 27 shots.

Meanwhile, Thame Ladies travelled to Watlington for a game of triples. With only one shot difference at the half way stage, the game continued to be competitive right to the end with Thame winning the game 42-39.

The top rink went to Sharon Gardner,Maureen Giles and Skip Doreen Penn who won 18-10.

The midweek bowlers visited Cheddington for the second leg of their annual friendly fixtures and won convincingly 75-62.
