Boxer Nathan Graham says he is ‘honoured and grateful’ after receiving the backing of no fewer than 11 Aylesbury companies in his bid for continued boxing success.
The BBBofC Southern Area light middleweight champ is a popular figure in the town and that has been reflected in a new wave of sponsorship from local firms. The sponsorship is designed to help Graham finance and facilitate various aspects of his equipment needs and training costs.
The companies backing the fighter, to form what has been dubbed Team De Lick, include Jordan’s Jewellers, The Grill, Morecom, Ayrtel, Raj – We Recycle 4 U Ltd, JPB Electrical Contractors, Roosters Piri Piri, Bella Pizza, Niche, Advanced Plumbing and Heating Services and All Star Plumbing.
As part of the sponsorship deal Graham will wear clothing brandishing the various company names and logos.
Graham said he was grateful to all the companies and has vowed to repay them for their support.
“I feel very blessed to have the support of so many local people and companies,” he said.
“It will be a big help to me in my training and will allow me to focus on the key thing, betting at the top of my game to keep progressing and achieving things in boxing.
“I really want to thank each and every one of them for their help and big them up for what they are doing, local companies supporting a local lad trying to achieve something. It will really help me do that.”
Graham was due to fight one of the country’s top 10 fighters at his weight in John O’Donnell on October 5 at the O2 Arena in London.
But an injury to O’Donnell has seen that fight scrapped this week.
Graham will instead fight two weeks later at York Hall in London but his opponent is yet to be finalised.
