Aylesbury Rugby Club go to Wallingford today (Saturday) knowing a bonus point win could go a long way to securing the promotion play-off spot.

After today’s game Dave Larham’s men have just three more matches and are currently sitting pretty in second in the Southern Counties North League.

While they only trail leaders Bletchley by two points and could still win the league, it is unlikely given the fact Bletchley have two games in hand.

The Magenta and Blacks travel to Wallingford in supreme form after hammering Royal Wootton Bassett 87-8 – a game in which they scored 13 tries – last time out.

And Larham says that game and their recent form is the reward for 18 months of hard work.

He said: “Quite simply, we were superb’.

“The performance and result was the reward for the work that the players have put in over the last 18 months.

“As a group we have been critical about several aspects of our game because we have the desire to be the best we can be.”
