THAME came so close to upsetting league leaders Burnham on Saturday after a spirited fight back nearly saw them claim all 25 points.
Thame chose to bat first and began well but a few wickets at lunch left the game in the balance with Thame on 89-5.
But Thame began to take control with J Bhatti (63) and M Parmar (37) (pictured, above) steering Thame close to that 200 mark.
However, again Thame lost wickets at the wrong times and were reduced to 188 all out.
In reply, decisions did not go Thame’s way and Rehman (98) capitalised to steer Burnham to 132-1. The game seemed dead and buried at tea but a spirited comeback from Thame saw Burnham need nine runs with two wickets remaining and with a draw never in sight it was Burnham who got over the finishing line to take all 25 points.
