A cricket side set up in memory of Aylesbury men who died in a tragic car accident were crowned Great Central Midweek Cup champions after beating Monks Risborough in the final at Dinton on Monday night.
IAS had beaten Long Marston in their semi-final and faced Monks for the cup.
They turned to one of their strike bowlers Nadeem Raja to help dismantle the Monks middle and tail with four wickets in three overs to end their innings on 148 all out.
IAS began their run chase slowly but Rehman and Khuram steadied the IAS innings and kept the scoreboard moving with 49 runs from just 24 balls. When skipper Waseem joined the play he hit an intelligent knock of 17 not out alongside brother Shakeel’s six not out and it was enough to see IAS to victory on 149-7 with 12 balls to spare to win the 2012 cup final.
