Aylesbury FC have announced two new signings but will be losing one of their better players.
Aylesbury boy Aston Goss joins the Moles from St Neots Town and the versatile Kevin Mealor returns for another spell at the club.
While fans will be pleased to see the club make additions in a bid to turn their faltering season around, it was also announced that one of their star performers in the current campaign, summer signing Jerome Federico, will be leaving.
Federico, brought in by now departed boss Craig Faulconbridge, has been a consistent performer for FC but will be leaving to join Dunstable Town.
Goss, who played and scored for Aylesbury side Hale Leys United at the weekend, is a skilful winger/striker with good pace who started his career at FC’s rivals Aylesbury United.
Returning Mealor, who has had spells at FC, Aylesbury United and more recently Aston Clinton, is a versatile player who has already had three short spells with the club, playing 29 times in the promotion winning season of 2009/10 and another 13 times in 2010/11 and 2011/12.
A club statement welcomed the pair to the club, saying: “Aston is good on the ball and with the ability to go past defenders and make and take chances. Has had spells in the Premier Division this season with both St Albans City and St Neots and brings a hatful of Southern League experience with him.
“Kevin can most commonly found on the left-side of the team, he can be used in midfield, central defence or as a striker and will add variety and versatility to the squad.”
On the departure of Federico, the club said: “We wish Jerome all the best for the rest of this season and thanks him for his contribution to the club.”
