Thame United completed their season with a 2-0 defeat away at Hellenic Premier Division leaders Ardley United on Easter Monday.

Played in a thunderstorm, Thame enjoyed more of the ball in a low-key first half but the visitors failed to turn their possession into chances and it was the leaders who went ahead when, midway through the half, Jon Gardner raced through and dinked the ball past goalkeeper Ian Farrow.

Ardley maintained their lead until half-time before another scrappy second half followed that saw little goalmouth action, but again the home side scored the only goal as substitute Joe Eyre broke clear down the left and his cross was met by Troy Bryan, who who launched an overhead kick into the net to seal the points for Ardley. Thame have now completed their 2013/14 league programme and currently lie 10th in the Premier Division, but could slip three places if teams sitting just below them win their remaining games.
