Mark West has boosted his Thame United squad for their game against Flackwell Heath on Saturday after securing the signing of Connor Hayes.

The manager snapped up the former Rushden and Diamonds youngster and it has shown the family spirit within club as he is a distant relative of current first team players Adam and Nik Rhodes.

Hayes, 19, put pen to paper earlier in the week to add further strength to the squad.

He was released by Conference side Rushden earlier in the season and has since been playing at Banbury United and Chalfont St Peter.

A club spokesman said: “Connor joins a young squad and adds versatility given that he can play in either defence or midfield.”

The match will kick off at 3pm and will take place at the new ASM Stadium.
