New-look team get a point for Chinnor FC

Six new faces started for Chinnor FC last week as they drew their opening game of the season 1-1 with Chalfont Wasps.

Chinnor got off to a lively start but struggled to create any chances and ended up finding themselves behind late in the first half.

Newell found himself up against two Wasps players who played around him to cross for Brosnan to neatly guide his header into the back of the net.

Wasps could have extended their lead within minutes of the second half starting but Brosnan could only guide his header over the bar.

Almost immediately after, Ian Braun’s corner was knocked down by Craker into the path of Stuart Braun, who stabbed home from close range.

Chinnor came close later on but had to settle for a point on the opening day of the season.
