Aylesbury United have announced the appointment of two new directors with historic ties to the club.
In a statement released last week, the Ducks board said it was delighted to announce the appointment of John Neary and James Byrne after a shareholders meeting.
Neary and Byrne were, until recently, chairman and vice chairman respectively of Aylesbury Town FC, which merged with United in the close season.
A statement read: “They continue to serve on the committee of Aylesbury United Junior FC in similar roles.
“We are confident they will make a significant and positive impact in strengthening our commitment to local football whilst giving the juniors a presence on the board of their club. A most warm welcome back gentlemen.”
Both men have ties with the Ducks going back a “few” years.
John was part of the team of Neary and Picot, the main contractors which built The club’s stadium at Buckingham Road.
Meanwhile, James played for Aylesbury United juniors alongside the likes of former Arsenal apprentice Nando Perna and FA Cup winner Emmerson Boyce.
