Aylesbury FC and Aylesbury United ramp up their pre-season preparations on Tuesday night with local derby friendlies at Thame and Winslow respectively.
Aylesbury FC will be looking to get a positive result on the board after back-to-back pre-season defeats, albeit against higher placed opposition, when the Moles make the short trip to Thame’s ASM Stadium.
It will be FC’s fourth pre-season friendly and kicks off at 7.30pm. With manager Craig Faulconbridge away for a few days and coach Fraser Mclachlan doing his UEFA ‘A’ Coaching License team affairs will be left to Keith Walker.
Meanwhile, the Ducks are in the opposite direction but another short journey to Winslow United for what has become an annual pre-season fixture.
In 2010 Winslow inflicted a shock 1-0 defeat on the Ducks, and with Aylesbury still looking for their first win and first goals of the summer Tony Joyce will be hoping for something like the more recent handsome scorelines.
Last season new striker Ian Cooper got a brace in a 4-0 win, while the season before a Stacey Field hat-trick helped the team to a 5-0 victory.
Tonight’s match at Elmfields Gate kicks off at 7.45pm.
