Thame United slipped to eighth in the Hellenic Premier Division after losing 3-1 to Kidlington at the ASM Stadium on Saturday.

Although the visitors began brightly, Thame went ahead against the run of play when, on 13 minutes, Dan West was brought down inside the penalty area and Marcus Mealing dispatched the resulting spot-kick.

Kidlington equalised on 20 minutes when Lee Farrow was unable to hold
onto a well-struck free-kick and the ball fell kindly to visiting captain Tommy Castle, who netted from close range.

Minutes later, Luke Ricketts struck the post as Thame looked to regain the lead, but an own goal from Ellis Hercules put Kidlington ahead at the break.

Thame again threatened at the start of the second half, but Lewis Coyle notched the decisive fourth goal with a well-placed shot from 18 yards.

United have two home games over the next five days, first they entertain Wootton Bassett Town on Saturday before hosting Brimscombe & Thrupp on Tuesday.
