THAME United face an injury crises on Saturday as five first team players look set to be missing for the tie against Wantage Town.

United are without top scorer Alex Stewart, as well as fellow first teamers James Soulsbury, Adam Rhodes, Stuart Braun and Aaron Rodgers.

As a result West is not awash with confident about his team’s chances on Saturday.

He said: “They are all lads that would normally be starting so it is going to be difficult for us.

“Even if we had a full strength side it would be a tough match but going into it with those players missing will make it twice as hard.”

West may have to dip into some of his reserve squad, but if the game on Saturday is anything to go by, they could be ready to make the step up.

In the cup match against Rayners Lane, the manager promoted a number of reserve players to the first team and they repaid his faith by winning on penalties after extra-time ended 3-3.

West said: “I was really pleased with them and a few of the lads are now challenging for a spot in the team.”
