A team in Aylesbury’s Sunday Combination have received a generous show of support in line with The Bucks Herald’s Make Football More Affordable campaign ahead of the biggest game in its short history today (Sunday).
Pickerings Plant Ltd have stepped forward to generously fund a new kit and training equipment for Aylesbury FC Sundays.
The privately owned plant hire company, established in 1969 with 10 depots located throughout England, stepped forward to help out one year after the team was formed by Aylesbury man Chris Davies.
Davies said: “At a time where the costs of local football is coming under much scrutiny and teams are struggling to cover costs it is amazing to see such a gesture, everyone at the club thanks Pickerings greatly for its support.”
On the pitch the team is unbeaten in the league and host the biggest game in their short history today – a Sunday FA Cup tie against Dee Road Rangers of Reading. The match takes place at Haywood Way (2pm kick off). Entry is £3.
