Aylesbury FC will be hoping the old adage that pre-season results are irrelevant after they lost their fourth consecutive match at Arlesey Town on Saturday.

Aylesbury travelled to the Armadillo Stadium to take on the Calor Premier League outfit who have ex-Moles Jeanmal Prosper and Luke Abraham in their ranks.

With Brian Haule, Ollie Hogg and Matarr Touray injured and Stephen Lindsey, Julian Smith, Ben Stevens and Jerome Federico all away on holiday it made for a stern test of Craig Faulconbridge’s squad.

But FC rallied and put in a decent performance, taking the lead when player-boss Faulconbridge’s through ball to Osei found the striker in the box and he poked past the Arlesey keeper.

With just 20 minutes to go it did not seem the hosts would get back into the game but with FC tiring, two quick goals gave the home side a victory which was harsh on the visitors.

FC entertain Kidlington on Tuesday night (7.45pm) in their next pre-season match.
