Aylesbury FC were beaten yet again as Craig Faulconbridge’s miserable start to life as player-boss continued with a 3-2 defeat at Northwood while Aylesbury United beat local rivals Berkhamsted 3-0.
Northwood, fresh from beating Aylesbury United 5-2 in the FA Cup last weekend, got their first home win of the season against FC, John Christian giving them the lead with just 19 seconds on the clock.
Adamson Ajayi coolly netted a second on nine minutes and Woods were looking comfortable. Gradually, though, FC got back into the game, and they pulled one back seven minutes before the break.
FC showed fight and desire to complete an impressive comeback eight minutes after the restart.
But Northwood got what turned out to be the winner when Christian made it 3-2 after 64 minutes.
Meanwhile, following the double disappointment of going out of the FA Cup last Saturday, and losing at home to league leaders Dunstable on Wednesday, the Ducks got back to winning ways at local rivals Berko.
Boosted by the return of Stacey Field after he missed the midweek match against Dunstable, United were greateful to keeper Jack Sillitoe for a string of fantastic saves to keep the scoreline goalless at half-time.
The second half was much better for the Ducks, though, Field scoring a fantastic hat-trick, including a penalty after Zac Reynolds was brought down in the box.
