A second half Ramsgate penalty was enough to bring Aylesbury’s FA Trophy campaign to an end with a 1-0 defeat.
Loan keeper Alex Tokarczyk, who signed from Hemel after Jack Sillitoe was ruled out until the new year, enjoyed a largely successful debut between the sticks. That was until he brought down Ramsgate’s Ian Pulman in the box and Warren Schulz tucked home the penalty.
The game had been a tight affair with chances at a premium, top scorer Stacey Field having the best of them when he ran clean through but saw his effort saved by the legs of Darren Hawkes.
After the goal United’s task was made even tougher when Field was dismissed for a kicking out at an opponent, leaving his side to play the last 15 minutes with 10 men.
The Ducks still had chances, but at the other end Tokarczyk made a number of good saves to keep the Rams at bay as Aylesbury committed men forward, but with neither side able to find the net it finished 1-0.
The defeat ended Tony Joyce’s side’s five match winning run.
