Aylesbury’s preseason preparations continued with a 3-0 win at Biggleswade Town.
A highly charged and, at times, fractious encounter, saw the Ducks edge in front of their Calor League Premier Division hosts in the 15th minute.
Lee Grace won the ball back and hung up a peach of a cross that Ben Baines met with a looping header into the net.
The Ducks had to defend strongly to keep Town at bay, Jack Sillitoe at his best with meaningful saves either side of the interval.
But a second Aylesbury goal settled the outcome. A quick free-kick caught the Waders cold, and Matt Kimani was able to cross from the left where Bill Morgan guided the ball home at the far post.
Better was to follow as Zack Reynolds rounded off the night with a brilliant third, guiding the ball past the keeper after a superb passing move.
Tony Joyce’s side, who have had to make do without star striker Stacey Field, Louis Austin and, in the long term, John Mulholland, play their final friendly match at Stratford Town on Saturday.
