Aylesbury United have confirmed two new signings and the retention of two players from last season as Tony Joyce adds another four names to his squad for the 2013/14 Southern League campaign.
The Ducks welcome back the popular Joey Acheampong and keeper Jack Sillitoe to the fold. Striker Acheampong has made more than 120 club appearances for United while the long serving Sillitoe, an Aylesbury boy at heart, passed the 200 mark last season.
Joining the pair are former Aylesbury FC defender Lee Grace and striker Dean Allen. The signing of Grace will disappoint FC fans, who voted him their players of the year in 2012.
Grace left the Moles to join United’s promotion rivals Oxhey Jets last season where he twice featured against the green and whites as the clubs battled for second spot in the Spartan Premier.
Allen is described by the Ducks’ official website as a ‘bustling striker who made a good impression playing the second half of Saturday’s friendly at AFC Kempston Rovers’.
He has been the top scorer for Holmer Green for the past two seasons with 27 goals last time out. The player is now keen to prove himself in the Southern League.
A brief statement on the club’s website said: “We welcome them both to the club and look forward to seeing them in green and white in the forthcoming weeks.”
