Aylesbury United proved once again they can rub shoulders with the best after holding league leaders Barton Rovers to a 1-1 draw.
The Ducks and Calor Southern League Division One front runners could not be separated at Bell Close on Saturday.
But Tony Joyce will be the happier of the two managers after his side battled back from 1-0 down to take a share of the points.
Following a goalless first half the visitors took the lead 10 minutes after the break when Luke Knight struck a superb effort from long range.
United battled back, though, and were worthy of their equaliser 20 minutes later. And it was that man, top scorer Stacey Field, who scored it with a delightful lob.
As was to be expected Barton piled on the pressure in the closing stages but United’s defence, with Bill Morgan returning to the lineup alongside the ever reliable Jack Wood, was superb and held firm to maintain their place firmly ensconced in midtable.
