Aylesbury FC were well beaten at promotion chasing Rugby Town while Aylesbury United dropped points in a draw against Harefield.
Aylesbury FC went into their Easter Monday match at second-placed Rugby Town off the back of a thumping 7-0 win over Evo Stik Southern Division One Central whipping boys Woodford and a 2-1 win over Beaconsfield SYCOB on Saturday.
But Rugby’s extra class showed and FC could not handle home striker David Kolodynski who helped himself to a hat-trick.
There was no shame in defeat for Craig Faulconbridge’s men, though, as it was a club record 10th straight win for the Butlin Road side.
Meanwhile, the Ducks will see their 1-1 draw with Harefield as two points dropped in the race for second place in the Spartan South Midlands Premier League, particularly after Ben Butler and Ben Baines battled to scramble United in front.
Harefield equalised and despite the dropped points it is difficult to be too critical of Tony Joyce’s side, who made it 21 games unbeaten.
