Departing Aylesbury FC manager Craig Faulconbridge says the club is in good hands with his former coaching staff ahead of today’s (Saturday) game against Royston Town.

Faulconbridge’s former assistant Keith Walker and head coach Fraser McLachlan will be assisted by Jon Franklin in taking charge of the first team while the club makes a ‘long term decision on a successor’.

And Faulconbridge has backed the trio to keep things ‘as normal as possible’.

He said: “It pleases me that my coaching staff of Fraser and Keith Walker have agreed to continue the work that has been done in building the team, and, along with Jon Franklin who has been helping out lately, and support from (chairman) Danny Martone and the board ensures the continuity of the team remains as normal as possible.

“The above mentioned I would like to thank profusely for enabling me to manage the team for the last two years and wish all the best to in the coming games and weeks.”

FC go into the game against high-flying Royston (fifth) sat in 16th place in the table and off the back of three straight defeats.
