The Ducks face a tough start to 2014 as they travel to Rugby Town today (Saturday) – weather permitting.

Both Aylesbury and Rugby will be raring to go and get 2014 off to a positive start after respective New Year’s Day washouts.

Tony Joyce’s side make the trip to Butlin Road to face high flying Rugby, who sit in second place in the Calor Southern League Division One Central.

Joyce said his side should be ‘aiming high’ for the new year. But he will be hoping United’s away day habits from 2013 carry over, given how impressive their record is on the road.

Ahead of the game – United’s first since a 2-1 win at Ashford on December 14 due to the wet weather – Joyce said he is in good spirits about the Ducks’s prospects.

“I am hoping we can continue to make good progress in the league this year. We have quite a few games in hand on teams around us so we should be aiming high.”

The game is due to kick off at 3pm.
