Injury-ravaged Hale Leys were thrashed 4-0 by Kent Athletic at the Fairford Leys ground on Saturday.
Leys started the game well but Kent maintained a good shape and became increasingly difficult to break down as Carl Moreton narrowly missed the target.
Kent were enjoying a good spell of possession and their persistence paid off when they seized upon Leys’ defensive confusion to tap home at the back post. The shopping centre side were struggling to get to grips with Kent’s long ball style and as half-time approached the away side doubled their lead.
Leys gradually began to find their feet in the second half but they consistently failed to carve out any strong chances.
This lack of attacking threat would cost them as Kent struck twice in two minutes late on to wrap up a comprehensive win.
Leys face Athletic again away from home on Saturday in another Division Two game (kick-off 2pm).
