England and Chelsea women’s footballer Eniola Aluko was the guest of honour at Crendon Corinthians FC’s awards day.
Nearly 250 boys and girls across the club’s 14 squads from under 6 to under 16, plus three girls teams, received their awards from Aluko.
The England star also presented an award to under-11 player of the season Ellie Back (pictured).
Chairman Andrew Back said: “Having Eniola present our awards is inspiring for all the children, in particular our successful girls’ teams.
“It’s an area we’re really looking to build on next year and would really encourage girls of all ages to come along to the club in September and give it a go.”
Afterwards Aluko, who has 63 caps and 12 goals for England, spent some time with the girls teams answering questions.
She told the Long Crendon girls that to get over her nerves she just had to imagine she was playing in the park with her friends, instead of in front of 75,000 people at Wembley.
