A GREAT bowling display from inexperienced Dinton debutant Waqar Mohammed was the highlight as the first team slipped to a 24 run defeat against neighbours Oxford at the weekend.

Rodney Browne and Neil Spicer found it difficult to get away on a slow turning track but were well supported by Scott Bowler, Kelvin Burrows and Faisal Ali.

Kingy and Cripps opened solidly but in the end the Oxford off spinner was too good and some overly ambitious and aggressive strokeplay, despite plenty of time to bat, meant an all too regular fall of wickets.

The final school was Dinton 166 ao (42 overs) Oxford 190 ao (48 overs)

Dinton 187-3 (20 overs) Banbury 190-5 (19.1 overs)

Meanwhile, on Bank Holiday Monday in the Cockspur National Club T20 Competition Home Counties Premier League Stage, Dinton posted a challenging 187-3 from their 20 overs.

Dinton looked good for the win but Banbury’s experience and ability proved a little too strong.
