Dinton first team narrowly failed to register another victory in the Home Counties on Saturday.
Travelling to Harefield, the hosts batted first and immediately encountered a rejuvenated, on form Mike Morgan.
With four wickets in his first four overs and finishing with figures of 5-60, he had the opposition on the rocks at 16-4.
But Harefield’s middle order flourished eventually raised their all out total to 193. Ahmad came good for Dinton, finishing the innings off with 4-41.
Dinton’s reply always looked likely to succeed, through Sutcliff (23) Ludlow (25), Aziz (42) and Sharpe (58), but three wickets for King and four for Khala pegged them back to finish 10 runs short on 183-8.
This was, however, an impressive performance, maintaining the team’s rise up the table.
