Wormsley Cricket Ground has announced another season of top cricket action this week.
Ranging from the England Women’s team playing India in a One Day International, to the Unicorns taking on the counties and the British Universities One Day Final, Wormsley will once again be a hotbed of cricketing activity when the season gets under way soon.
Renowned as the most beautiful cricket ground in the country and privately owned by the Getty family, the Bucks club is open to the public on a very limited number of occasions.
A major highlight for 2012 will be the inaugural ‘Wormsley July Festival’, taking place from July 11-24 to 24.
The Festival includes the England Women’s One Day International against India (Wednesday July 11), the Wormsley Armed Forces Cricket Day (Sunday July 15) and the JEO XI (Jonathan Oppenheimer XI) vs Wormsley XI on Tuesday July 24 featuring past and present internationals from England and South Africa.
The season gets off to a great start on April 15 with the Unicorns taking on Essex County Cricket Club in an early season friendly.
To celebrate the London 2012 Olympics, the day will be in support of the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust and will be attended by a number of Olympians.
