With Thame United having won all of their opening five games of the season, they go in to Saturdays home FA Cup Preliminary Round Match with Wootton Blue Cross of the United Countries League in high spirits.
With the exception of striker John Mitchell, who was forced off with an injury in the win over South Kilburn on Tuesday and is doubtful for Saturday, and defenders Steve Newell and Pete Way, United will be at full strength. Coming in to the squad will be Stuart Braun, a recent signing from Chinnor, Stuart Barr who returns from suspension and Lee Orkney, who was unavailable on Tuesday due to holiday commitments.
Wootton Blue Cross will be something of an unknown quantity to United, although manager Mark West has been seeking advice from former Thame boss Tony Joyce who, as current manager of Buckingham Town, play in the same league as Woottoon. With Wootton playing at the same level, United will have a good chance of progressing to the next round, and continuing their run in the Cup which started with a good win against Bedford two weeks ago.
As with the Bedford match, United have agreed with opponents Wootton that all Under 16's get in to the match free, with adults £3 and £2 for seniors. With tremendous support from the boys and girls from Thame Boys and Girls FC in the match with Bedford, United will be hoping for similar support and a similar result on Saturday. Kick-off is at 3pm at AFC Wallingford.
