GOLF TOURNAMENT PROVES A SUCCESS

(FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 10) Lord Williams's School in Thame held their first Open Golf Championship on Friday October 27.
The weather could not have been better for a low scoring tournament with calm and sunny conditions for the 45 competitors as they arrived at Waterstock Golf Club, near Thame.
The competition was open to pupils, parents, OT's and teachers alike whic
h offered a unique and informal event where all sides of Lord Williams's School were well represented.
The Open was run on three individual competitions - a scratch tournament, a Stableford and a medal for the highest placed school student.
In a well contested and low scoring day, James Dobson took the green jacket and Stableford Cup with a net 6 under par net 66.
Waterstock Club professional, Tom Baker, took the scratch competition with a round of 72.
He just beat Tom Stibbs (73) by one shot who won the student medal.
The school would like to thank all the players that supported the event but in particular P.G. Trophies, Oxfordshire NASUWT and Waterstock Golf Club who all support the school where and whenever they can.
