DARTS legend Bob Anderson is set to visit Chinnor later this
month for a darts exhibition.
Local players will have the chance to take on the former world champion in the exhibition at the Chinnor Reading Rooms on Friday October 10
with the doors opening at 7pm.

The evening is being organised by Ian Whayman, the landlord of the Red Lion pub in Chinnor, who recently won a national competition organised
by their parent group.

Enterprise Inns, to host the Anderson exhibition.

But because of the space constraints at the Red Lion, Ian has switched the event to Chinnor Reading Rooms in the High Street, which can hold
up to 100 people.

Ian is delighted to have the darts star in Chinnor: "Bob is one of the older stalwarts, he was a former world champion.

"He does quite a few exhibition nights and he's a very sociable chap himself, he just doesn't stop around the (darts) board all night."

While Anderson, 51, reached the semi-final of the PDC World Championships as recently as 2004, he really made his name in the sport in the 1980s.

Landlord Ian is hoping good darts players from other pubs in the Aylesbury and Thame area will take up the challenge of playing Anderson - and give the darts maestro a tough game.

Tickets are only £2, with all ticket-holders going into a prize-draw to be one of the 12 or so local darts players to take on Anderson.

The Chinnor Reading Rooms will have a licenced bar on the night.

Booking can be in advance as there is only limited space.
