A DANCE marathon with a Latin twist raised more than £2,500 pounds for Cancer Research UK last weekend.

A DANCE marathon with a Latin twist raised more than £2,500 pounds for Cancer Research UK last weekend.

Thame-based zumba instructors Sandra Brooks, Frankie Cross, Emma Charlton and Rachel Swift joined with 109 other women and one man to dance in the three-hour event.

The zumbathon was held at Thame Leisure Centre and was supported by Nexus Community.

Go Active helped organise the zumabthon and supported the event.

A total of £2,640 was raised through entry and sponsorship.

Lil Roe from Go Active said: “Well done to everyone who took part.

“Some people raised more than £300 pounds each through sponsorship.

“People paid £10 to take part which went towards charity and had the option to get sponsorship too.”
