A PAIR of swimmers from Thame have been given young achievers awards for their remarkable success.
Georgia Cahill, 16, and James Goetz were honoured by South Oxfordshire District Council for their efforts with Thame Swimming Club.
Georgia is currently the girl’s captain of the club and has competed in county and regional championships,
She is currently 1.29 seconds off qualifying for national competition in 2012.
Her coach David Jones said: “Georgia is a great all round swimmer, her main strokes being freestyle and backstroke. I know she will endeavour to try her best as always and continue to reach out for her dreams and help to develop the younger swimmers in our club. Georgia is a great ambassador not only to the sport, but in every area of her life.”
James is the vice captain of the club’s boys section.
