Talented young sports stars and artists from Thame are set to be honoured at an awards ceremony in Wallingford today (Monday).

South Oxfordshire District Council will be rewarding 51 hard working and talented youngsters from across the region, including eight from Thame.

Each winner will receive a £250 prize to recognise their achievements in sport, the arts, and for their work within the community.

The eight youngsters from the Thame area are Katie Whittaker for her impressive work in textiles, Emma Fotherby for her gymnastic talents, Linsey Smith for excellence in cricket and Emily Allen for her outstanding achievements in acrobatic gymnastics.

Camilla Gaulter-Carter from Towersey has been recognised for her skills in art and textiles, while Jordan Fletcher has been commended for his talents in motorcycle trials.

Chinnor’s Rebecca Evans (acrobatic gymnastics) and Alex Cook (badminton) have also been awarded for their efforts.

The awards will be taking place at St Mary’s Church, Wallingford, from 4.30pm today.
