Woman sexually assaulted on way home from night out in Aylesbury

A man has been arrested after a woman was sexually assaulted in Aylesbury early this morning.

The 21-year-old victim was walking away from the town centre along Gatehouse Road at about 1am as she made her way home from a night out.

She was grabbed by her shoulders, pushed to the ground and sexually assaulted.

A police patrol was passing the area and the woman was able to get their attention.

Shortly afterwards officers arrested a 34-year-old man, who remains in custody.

The offender is white, about 6ft tall, of slim but athletic build, with short spiky hair.
