OXFORDSHIRE County Council’s Trading Standards is warning people to guard themselves against fraudsters who ask for payment in the form of Ukash vouchers, after the latest victim was conned out of almost £500.

Ukash is a genuine payment service which allows people to spend online without the need for a credit or debit card.

Vouchers can be purchased from a number of retail outlets and then spent at genuine partner websites. However scammers are now targeting this payment method.

People have already been cold calling in the county.
