Village hall holds Christmas cake and craft fair for refurb funds

A VILLAGE is holding a Christmas craft and cake fair to raise money to help refurbish its historic village hall.

Chinnor Village Hall was built in 1939, survived the Second World War and has recently undergone a revamp.

The Chinnor Village Hall Committee has undertaken several fund raising events during the past year, including a barn dance, an old time music hall evening, and are in the process of preparing a programme of events for 2012

The craft and cake fair will be held on Friday, December 9, at the hall from 7pm to 9.30pm.

Stalls will include Patterns and Knitting, Cakes and Sweets, Linens and Personalised Gifts, Quirky Vintage Cake Stands, Wood-Turned Items, Hand Made Cards, Patchwork, cross stitch, pictures and cards. Usborne Books, bean bags, scales, fashion jewellery, stained glassware.

Chinnor Musical Society will be providing seasonal songs and carols.

Mulled wine, mince pies, tea and coffee will be available. Entrance costs £1.

The committee who are looking for interested residents to join and help push forward the refurbishment plans for the hall. Chinnor Village Hall is a registered charity 304285.

A new hall, meeting room, facilities including well equipped kitchen are now all available for hire.
