It may have been raining but that didn’t stop Bedgrove Park celebrating receiving its fourth Green Flag award today (Tuesday).
Bedgrove and Vale Park both joined the record number of 1,447 sites nationwide to receive the award which recognises excellent management standards, well-maintained facilities, high standard of safety and security, sustainability and community involvement.
Councillor David Thompson, cabinet member for leisure, said: “For two of our parks to have been judged as among the best in the country and worthy of the Green Flag Award is an incredible achievement.
“It’s also great to see our communities play a major role through their positive use of the sites.”
The scheme ensures everyone has access to high-quality green spaces.
