Plans to build a new Sainsbury’s store in Gatehouse Road creating 300 new jobs have been approved.
Aylesbury Vale District Council chiefs voted through the plans by the supermarket giant at a meeting today.
External alterations and an extension to the existing Sainsbury’s store in Aylesbury town centre have also gone through.
The Gatehouse Road Sainsbury’s will boast 12484sq metres of floor space and will include a surface level car park.
Planning permission is subject to the firm building 25 affordable housing units at the site, and creating new road access from Edge Street to serve the residents.
Sainsbury’s must also pay for works to widen Gatehouse Road, create new access off Bicester Road as well as footways and cycleways.
