Townspeople thanked for help in borehole appeal

OXFAM Bookshop is delighted to announce it has successfully raised the £394 needed to provide a ‘Share in a Borehole’.

The charity shop in the High Street would like to thank everyone who contributed, whether it was multiple pounds, singular pounds or pennies.

Inspired by the Duchess of Cambridge and responding to the suffering of people in drought-affected East Africa, the money will fund the drilling of a borehole for fresh water.

As well as the £394, the appeal raised an additional amount to buy a number of Oxfam Buckets.

The initiative was part of the Oxfam Unwrapped international appeal.
