Thame Hurricanes returned to winning ways on Wednesday night, beating Quainton Sails 20-13.
A motivated Hurricanes team were determined to take the win after losing their last two games.
Thame started well and took the lead early with some great shooting. Excellent mid court play meant Thame kept the lead into half time.
At the beginning of the second half, Sail’s defenders put pressure on the Hurricane’s shooters and Sail’s confidence started to grow.
However, after some fantastic interceptions from the Thame defenders and good passing in the centre, Hurricanes soon had the game back under control. Player of the match was awarded to Lynn Palmer.
Meanwhile, Thame Tornadoes got off to a quick start and burst into a 4-1 lead against the Falcons.
The Falcons were on the back foot from the start and could never fully recover.
Thame’s play had a good balance to it and they were using the space well to stretch the opposing defenders. They led 7-3 after the first quarter and went on to win 26-15.
