Tonight’s line up at the annual Towersey festival will see a host of talented artists take to the stage.

Tonight’s line up at the annual Towersey festival will see a host of talented artists take to the stage.

The action kicks off with Richard Thompson who is described as ‘the best rock songwriter after Dylan and the best electric guitarist since Hendrix’, Scottish folk musician Dick Gaughan, Towersey’s veteran duo Nancy Kerr and James Fagan and the fruitily-monikered Banana Band.

Alsomaking an appearance will be Josienne Clark and Ben Walker, fresh from their European tour, andthe pair have been described by Radio 2 as ‘becoming one of the hottest tickets in folk’.

Blistering folk rock eight-piece group Merry Hell are back by popular demand, and combine male and female vocals with bass, drums, electric guitar, keyboard and mandolin to create a unique sound.

These musicians are joined by a host of others, alongside a vibrant programme of workshops and exhibitions for both adults and children.
