A lifelong Thame resident has been voted in as the newest member of Thame Town Council.

Former engineer Tom Wyse, who worked for the British Oxygen Company for 20 years, pipped three other candidates to the post with his passionate speech about the town where he lives with his wife.

He said: “As you can tell from my accent, I’m a local man.”

Tom, who replaces former councillor Andy Gunn, said he was delighted to be chosen by fellow members.
